A Damn Sap!

 

 

So, I am pretty sure I have some kind of syndrome or something.   It is not life threatening, but very embarrassing.  It happens quite a bit and I hate it!!  Parent/teacher conferences were this past week , and  I love going, I also have a little dread about the damn appointment.  And it's not just parent/teachers that symptoms occur, it happens on other occasions too, because I  CANNOT have someone talk to me about the progress of my kid without CRYING!!!! 

 

It seriously is so embarrassing!!!! Anytime someone tells me something about the kids, I get all sentimental!   We go in and sit down in Tate's class, and the second Mrs. Urrutia  starts talking about him, I get all teary eyed and choked up.  I don't  want to tear up every time someone tells me something good about my kids, but I don't  have the ability to hold back the quivering lip, the big gulp, and the tears!!!  It really is embarrassing!!!  I had to tell the poor teacher before she even started that I am a damn sap, I can't help the emotions!! It just takes over!!  The poor people I am talking with don't know what to do, hand me a tissue, give me a hug, or just give me a look like why in the hell are you crying!!!!
 

The tears are not sad,  they're the polar opposite. They're  tears of  pride, and happiness, and this unbelievable sense of gratitude for getting these 3 little munchkins in my life!!!   But for hell's sake I can't cry EVERY TIME!!!   I feel those things all day everyday, so I don't get why I have to get so choked up in situations like this!!!   I have got to be able to pull it together!! I need to be able to talk back, not just nod and smile!!!!!  It makes me so frustrated!!!!!  I have things I want to say back, but I can't!!!!!lol!
Really ......I hope I gow out of this ......I hope one day I can sit down and smile, and have a two sided conversation in a school situation without feeling like I have to swallow big every 5 seconds, and wear waterproof mascara!!!

 



Halloween Hangover!

We totally have Halloween hangover around here!!! Cally and I have decided that it should be some sort of rule that Halloween fall on the last Saturday in October!!! Whoever decided that it could fall on a school night did not have little monsters of their own!!!!  All I could think about today were those poor poor teachers!! LOL!! 

None the less it was a month of fun, topped off with the annual Halloween party at GG and Grandpa's!!! Their house is always a hit!!!  Full of yummy food, treats, and the most generous trick or treat bags on the block!!!!   I love seeing the costumes, people are so creative!!!  My kids had a blast with Brinlee and Rago, the entire Larsen family.... Shelly, Avery and my man Owen!!!  Lots more came, and I hope a great time was had by all!!! Until next Halloween....... I think I already have our costumes dreamed up!!!!

~Stars of the Week~

 We had a couple of Stars of the Week at our house!!! First up was Tate...I got to go to his class and read a story, and see how awesome his 1st grade class is!!!  Next was Petunia!! She got to make her poster, and tell about about her!!  Way to go kiddo's!!

PreSchool Field Trip!

 

The twins had their first field trip at preschool!! We headed out to the Evans Family Pumpkin Patch!!

Mrs. Aimee and Mrs. Charlee have these two kids wrapped around their finger!   Whit and Reese cannot wait for preschool days!!

 

 

 

 

Breakfast with a Witch!

 

We made our annual trip to Gardner Village for Breakfast with a Witch, with GG, and Steph and the boys!!   It's fun....the witches are a crack up and the kids LOVE IT!!!

Can't wait for next year!!

St. George Marathon~

 We made a mini vacation out of the St. George Marathon...(or as Whit would say a BACATION!!!!) We swam, and we swam, we went to Tuachan, we swam, we miniature golfed, and we swam some more!!  We ended up staying at the most awesome condo, with the best swimming ever!!  It was really nice to get away!! We went with GG and Grandpa, and Lauri, Tif and Harlee!!!  The marathon was the icing on the cake!  I know how crazy it sounds to say that it was fun....but IT WAS!! All 26.2 miles of it!!! I won't lie, the training for a race is brutal! There are more than 10 days that you think,"what in the hell have I done"! '"  And I am so never doing this again"!!!   But.......race day gets here and it is the total payoff for all your hard work!!  It is one of the most empowering atmospheres you can be in.  There is not one person in a crowd of over 20,000 runners and spectators that does not have your back!!!!  And that is contagious!!!  It makes you want to push others as well as yourself to do the very best you can do!!! 

I am so Lucky to have a hubby that thinks this is so cool!! He has my back 100%.  He met me twice along the course with water and nutrition,, sent encouraging texts  but most of all of his proud smiling face!!!! I love him!!!!!

And my parents!!!!! Seriously they are the best!!!! I do not know how lucky I got to have such incredible parents!!! THEY ROCK!!! We are all so lucky that they love and want to be a part of our lives!!!!  They were waiting at the finish line with the kids, and posters...screaming their guts out!!! I was in tears when I saw them!!!  It meant alot to me!!! I love you guys!!!

I ended up finishing the race in 4:11.  A time I did not think was possible for me......and having everyone there made it all the more sweet!!!  One foot in front of the other....digging deep....remembering all the advice from my mentors ( JESS XOXOXX)!!  It was definitely a moment in time for me!!!! I was really proud of myself!!

So I don't think there are any more full marathons in my near future! ( I think)!!!  But I told you this stuff is contagious, and Taylor is going to try his luck and put in for the lottery next year!! I hope he gets in so I can be the one cheering him on!! I told him I would meet him at Snow Canyon with a flat beer!!!!  He's got to carb load!!!!

 We swam so much that the kids crashed so hard at night!! Didn't move a muscle!!  Reese was the first one to jump of the diving board!!! Tate hates that she is so fearless....he hates for her to show them up, so he got up the nerve and did it too!!!

 I have some of the best friends!! This is what I woke up to the morning of the race!! Thank you Thomas Family!!!! And to all of my other amazing friends that sent text, and treats, and had my back!!!  Cally,Mckell, Amy, Jen. Cheri, Shyla, Shelly, Heath, Steph, Lindsay, Nicole,Kassey,Jessica,Kami, Lynly,  and anyone else I missed! It made my heart smile to have your mojo!!

 Patiently waiting!! I was trying to hurry!! The cheering section has to have just as much endurance as the runners!!!!

 I did it!

 A marathon is tiring!! They all crashed on the way back to the condo after the race!!
