Cowboy Kids!!

I love summer.  I love everything about it!!  Traditions run deep at our house, and summer wouldn't be complete without heading down to Hinckley for the annual celebration!  I won my first buckle barrel racing there when I was around 10... with the $25 dollar entry that my Grandpa Hopes paid!!!!!  So to go these days with my kiddo's and my parents as the grandparents, is really really cool!  With all of the family that I have down there and all of the family that comes just for the action and fun, we have a really good time!

This year was one for the books though.  My kids and my cousins kids all entered up!  It was so fun to see them all compete and cheer each other on!!!

Of course Reese started the peer pressure with her brothers, because she wanted to ride a sheep!!!!! This girl has grit!!  She got a little nervous when she got the actual number on her back, but she didn't weaken and rode like a champ, with a little help from her dad!!!
Whit said no way when I asked if he wanted to ride one, but after Reese went, we walked behind the chutes, and another little guy decided sheep riding wasn't his thing, so Whit took his number and rode the hair off one too.....well, of course with dad's help again!!!

The icing on the cake was Mr. Tate!!!!  He decided he wanted Taylor to do the hide race with him!!!! I almost died when he asked.....of all the things, hide racing is not what I would think my"Safety Sam" would pick!  But he wanted to and I was not about to discourage his bravery!!!!  I think the very best part of the whole thing was when the announcer call them up..." Chad Taylor, Tate Taylor your up"!!! It just has a nice ring to it!!!  He did awesome!!!!  Taylor did so good with him to, going just as fast as Tate could handle!! The crowd was cheering so loud for him and so were all of his cousins....IT WAS PRICELESS!!!!  And it was just what he needed to fill his heart with pride and confidence, because he has been a brave little bugger ever since!!
I love Hinckley Stinckley!! It's a tradition I hope my kids do with there kids when their older!!!  Thanks everyone for such a fin family weekend!!

Been there done that....and have the shirt and sucker to prove it!!

I love Whit's expression....." ya I just rode a sheep, wanna make something of it"!!

This is all you could see of Tate before the big race!!!  My uncle Doug didn't even know it was him!!

Best looking team I have ever seen!!

The Duo!

This double pack is total entertainment at our house!! You can't have one without the other.  I NEVER now what they are going to say!!!( Especially Whit, most times I have to cover his mouth before he finishes his sentences to save my dignity!!!!!)

But even with that, they crack me up all day long!!!   Their bond is priceless...sometimes it's tested but ... at the end of the day they have each others back!!!

Just like this!!!
( being short is no big deal, as long as you have a good twin brother!!!)
.

I love this picture!!!

Can't take the cowboy out of this kid!!

One hand around his sister.... the other on his gun!!!! Don't mess with her!!!

These poor kittens!!! When it was time to go to their new homes, I know they were screaming inside....Pick me Pick ME!!!!!!

Timp Cave!

I have really wanted to take Tate up to Timp Cave.  As much as the kids like science stuff, I knew he would totally dig the cave!!  So we left the twins with GG and Grandpa ( they are going to have to be 10 before I attempt it with them, oh geez, the thought makes my knees weak!!)LOL! And we headed out.

I am not sure what Tate expected, I know that he didn't realize that I hike meant  a HIKE!!! But he did it and did it awesome!!!  He was tired, but thought it was worth it!!!  The best part was the next moring.... he came into the kitchen with a weird look on his face, hold his hinny!!! He was so innocent, he could not figure out why his butt hurt so bad!!!! I told him mine hurt to, and then he smiled!!

My Mountain Men!

We really do live in a beautiful place!

The "Heart of the Cave"

We really had a good time......
and this is what the ride home looked like before we even got out of the canyon!!

June 2012!

Holy Crap...June is gone!! Where did the time go???  It is amazing to me how fast time goes by when you have kids!!!!  We had a fun month!!  From just enjoying summer to all of the celebrations it is a busy month!!!

We started the Round Up week of with our annual wagon ride with Grandpa and Roanie!!! He is the best Grandpa and best pony there is!! The kids have a blast throwing candy!! Every time we saw our close friends and family, Tate would say  " Let's bomb them"!!!!  Thank you Grandpa for always making it a fun time!!

After the stock parade we head over to the rodeo.  There is something about tradition that cannot be mess with!! We sit in the same seats every year!! Whit loved it of course!!  He was hoping to see Mr. Luke Branquino, but he got the next best thing...Blake Knowles was working his horse in the box before the rodeo and tried to make friends with Whit, of course he clammed right up, but he was cute with him.... he might be my new guy from now on!!

Next was the Round-up Race.  Amy and Andrea have been working toward the race so we all entered!!  I even put the pressure on my peeps at work, and sure enough We all did it!!!   It was Karen and Dr. Faddis's first 5K!! AND THEY DID AWESOME!!!!  Andrea's too...she even won in her age group!!!  GG and the kids were running there little guts out to!! I got to hold a sign for them this time and cheer them across the finish line!!! WAY TO GO GANG!!!!!! I HAD SOOOOOO MUCH FUN THAT MORNING!!!! WHEN IS THE NEXT ONE!!!
