Kararte Kid II and Gymnastics!!!

It has been an exciting couple of days for the twins!  Whit got to go to Karate, and Reese went to gymnastics!!   Reese was mesmerized by the Olympic gymnastics, she loved it, and thought she was Mary Lou Rettin ever since!  Whit has just been waiting patiently to be able to go to karate with Tate.  He was busting at the seems to get in there and wrestle someone down.........and he did!!!  He way laid the biggest kid in the class, didn't even flinch....the instructors were laughing so hard, they couldn't believe that he was as scrappy as he is..... He loved it!!! Tate was a great brother and showed him the ropes a little, but Whit has no trouble holding his own!!! So much it makes me feel bad for Tate a little.... but what Whit is going to make hard for Tate.......Tate is going to do the same thing for Whit when it comes to school!!!!  POLAR OPPOSITES!!!!!!
Reese got to go to gymnastics the next morning.  She was dressed and ready by 7;30 that morning....class was at 9:15!!! She insisted that her hair be slicked back and have sparkles in it!!!  She was so excited!! But when we got there she sat on the mat, and I went upstairs to watch with my parents and Whit......and she started to cry!!!!!  It floored me, I never thought in  million years she would get nervous, but she did.  But then I realized it is the first time she has ever done anything without Whit!!! Whit had Tate at Karate, and she was all alone!!!  So I went down and coax her a little, and sat along the wall, and she jumped right in the action!!!!  She cannot wait to go next time. I told her that it was just her special day, but we would all be there cheering her on, and  she tought that was okay!!!!  The twin bond is strong!!!!
Way to go kiddo's!!!  You guys are going to be great!!

The smiles on their faces say it all!

1st Grade for Tate!

1st grade!!   1st grade!!!!  This raising kids thing is just going by way to fast!!!!  1st grade is all day, all day!!! It's a long time to be Tater less at this house!!  No it really is fun and exciting, but really freaky all at the same time!!!
He did great this year, he did have some nerves, but we got to meet his awesome teacher Mrs. Urrutia a couple times before the big day, and that helped A LOT!!!!  And his buddy Kiezek is in class to make it that much better!!  But the first thing he said when he got out the first day was....."mom it was sooooooooooooooooo long!!!  Is it always going to be that long everyday?!"  It is a big jump!!!
The funniest part of first grade though is the story that took until 8:00 that night to unfold!! Not a big deal, just funny that it happen to safety sam!!!
He came home with homework that was a pack of M&M's with a note attached.  Every color M&M had a question with it, like tell your parents something you learned about your teacher, tell them about a new friend you made, stuff like that.  Well one question said, tell your parents of an act of kindness you did today.  Tate's head got low, and he quietly said..." well I didn't want to say, but at PE today I bonked into a kid and gave him a bloody nose, and I had to go to the office with him to get it to stop, but mom I thought I was going to the principals office!!!!!!  OH MY HELL....... I could just see him freaking out all the way sown the hall!!!  I said, " well that was nice of you to make sure he was okay!" and he says " well Mr.Boran said everyone had to have a buddy and he was mine, and i didn't know what to do!"
HAHAHAHAHHA!!  I seriously got the giggles, the other kid was just fine, and I'm sure Tate felt bad, but I can guarantee he was just as worried about himself!!!!!
I thought it was  a great 1st day to 1st grade story!!!  Hell if it would have been Whit, he would have came home and the first words out of his mouth would have been I got that kid, and gave him a bloody nose!!!

Cascade Springs!

The hunts are just around the corner you know!  So Taylor wanted to head up the canyon and scope out some options for the big week.  So we drove up to Cascade Springs, and did a little exploring.  It was a way fun afternoon after we got there......I still get car sick and barfed on the way up...... I swear there is some shi*#$ you should grow out of!!! But oh no, I am good for a good throw up at least a couple of times a year on a windy road!!!!
The kids all had there binoc's so they could help Taylor scout out the land... the good news was that we did end up seeing 3 MOOSE!!!  One lone mamma, and then just up the road a mamma and her baby!!  The kids were stoked!!! ( and me too)!!!
By the looks of things up there fall is just around the corner...every now and then you would see a patch of red that made me want to get all my hoodies out!!

Cowboy Kids!!

I love summer.  I love everything about it!!  Traditions run deep at our house, and summer wouldn't be complete without heading down to Hinckley for the annual celebration!  I won my first buckle barrel racing there when I was around 10... with the $25 dollar entry that my Grandpa Hopes paid!!!!!  So to go these days with my kiddo's and my parents as the grandparents, is really really cool!  With all of the family that I have down there and all of the family that comes just for the action and fun, we have a really good time!

This year was one for the books though.  My kids and my cousins kids all entered up!  It was so fun to see them all compete and cheer each other on!!!

Of course Reese started the peer pressure with her brothers, because she wanted to ride a sheep!!!!! This girl has grit!!  She got a little nervous when she got the actual number on her back, but she didn't weaken and rode like a champ, with a little help from her dad!!!
Whit said no way when I asked if he wanted to ride one, but after Reese went, we walked behind the chutes, and another little guy decided sheep riding wasn't his thing, so Whit took his number and rode the hair off one too.....well, of course with dad's help again!!!

The icing on the cake was Mr. Tate!!!!  He decided he wanted Taylor to do the hide race with him!!!! I almost died when he asked.....of all the things, hide racing is not what I would think my"Safety Sam" would pick!  But he wanted to and I was not about to discourage his bravery!!!!  I think the very best part of the whole thing was when the announcer call them up..." Chad Taylor, Tate Taylor your up"!!! It just has a nice ring to it!!!  He did awesome!!!!  Taylor did so good with him to, going just as fast as Tate could handle!! The crowd was cheering so loud for him and so were all of his cousins....IT WAS PRICELESS!!!!  And it was just what he needed to fill his heart with pride and confidence, because he has been a brave little bugger ever since!!
I love Hinckley Stinckley!! It's a tradition I hope my kids do with there kids when their older!!!  Thanks everyone for such a fin family weekend!!

Been there done that....and have the shirt and sucker to prove it!!

I love Whit's expression....." ya I just rode a sheep, wanna make something of it"!!

This is all you could see of Tate before the big race!!!  My uncle Doug didn't even know it was him!!

Best looking team I have ever seen!!

The Duo!

This double pack is total entertainment at our house!! You can't have one without the other.  I NEVER now what they are going to say!!!( Especially Whit, most times I have to cover his mouth before he finishes his sentences to save my dignity!!!!!)

But even with that, they crack me up all day long!!!   Their bond is priceless...sometimes it's tested but ... at the end of the day they have each others back!!!

Just like this!!!
( being short is no big deal, as long as you have a good twin brother!!!)
.

I love this picture!!!

Can't take the cowboy out of this kid!!

One hand around his sister.... the other on his gun!!!! Don't mess with her!!!

These poor kittens!!! When it was time to go to their new homes, I know they were screaming inside....Pick me Pick ME!!!!!!

Timp Cave!

I have really wanted to take Tate up to Timp Cave.  As much as the kids like science stuff, I knew he would totally dig the cave!!  So we left the twins with GG and Grandpa ( they are going to have to be 10 before I attempt it with them, oh geez, the thought makes my knees weak!!)LOL! And we headed out.

I am not sure what Tate expected, I know that he didn't realize that I hike meant  a HIKE!!! But he did it and did it awesome!!!  He was tired, but thought it was worth it!!!  The best part was the next moring.... he came into the kitchen with a weird look on his face, hold his hinny!!! He was so innocent, he could not figure out why his butt hurt so bad!!!! I told him mine hurt to, and then he smiled!!

My Mountain Men!

We really do live in a beautiful place!

The "Heart of the Cave"

We really had a good time......
and this is what the ride home looked like before we even got out of the canyon!!
